Mohan Jo Daro

A Idol in Mohan Jo Daro

Mohan Jo Daro, The modern name for the site simply means "Mound of the Dead" in Sindhi LanguageThe city's original name is unknown. Based on his analysis of a Mohan Jo Daro seal, Iravatham Mahadevan speculates that the city's ancient name could have been Kukkutarma (the city [RMA] of the cockerel [Kukkuta]
Cock-fighting may have had ritual and religious significance for the city, with domesticated chickens bred there for sacred purposes, rather than as a food source.
Mohan Jo Daro may furthermore have been a point of diffusion for the eventual worldwide domestication of chickens.
This idol is there in Mohan Jo Daro.
